Detroit Woman Marries Saline Man in Morford Home

Miss Goldie Cleone Morford wed Walter Robert Lutz at the Morford residence. The ceremony featured Lohengrin’s Wedding March and an altar of ferns and flowers. The couple left for Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, and will reside north of Morenci after their return.

Saline Junior 4-H Corn Club Holds Monthly Meeting

The Saline Junior 4-H Corn Club met at Glenn Weber's home Tuesday evening with eighteen of twenty members present. Warren Finkbeiner and Stanley Hartman were named to attend the Ann Arbor convention. July meeting program committee includes John Burg Warren Finkbeiner and Willard Weldkamp. The next meeting is at John Burg's home on the 25th. Mr Lutz spoke on coin judging and Walter Bredernitz reported on the World’s Fair trip.

Early Bird Gets Chickens on Michigan Avenue

On Michigan Avenue two chickens appeared Saturday morning. O C Wheeler organized a Spasies party with Ira Hauk and D L Tanner to corner the birds. Ira proved adept at handling fowl, lifting one by the leg above the lives without injury, though the bird seemed to have swallowed its teeth.

Stickers Banned At Future Elections Bill Passed

A bill approved by both legislative chambers would prohibit stickers backing candidates not on the regular ballot. If signed by the governor, candidates must have their names printed on the ballot in blank spaces.

Respected Pioneer Called Wednesday

Willis M. Fowler, longtime Saline resident born August 8 1862 in Sa line township, died June 27 after months of illness. He served as county auditor for 10 years and held posts with Citizens Bank Washtenaw Fire Insurance and Old People's Home Chelsea. Funeral Friday at East Michigan Avenue home with Rev Ede officiating. He leaves a widow, a son who died in infancy, a brother Eugene of Ypsilanti, and relatives in Detroit. Burial in Oakwood.

Ninth Inning Rally Wins For Saline Independents

Saline Independents staged a ninth inning rally to beat North Adams 9 to 2. Seven Saline errors helped North Adams jump ahead early, but Saline rallied from a 2 1 deficit behind singles and errors in the ninth inning to claim the win. Dexter and Armbruster figures highlighted a tense finish as Saline earned a late victory with key hits and a wild pitch.
