George H. Steidle 83 York Township Clerk for 33 years and former fire chief died Saturday at Ridgewood Hospital near Ypsilanti. Born May 6 1873 in Port Clinton Ohio he served as township clerk from 1917 to 1955 and was active in Steidle Shoe Store Whitmarsh Grocery Milan Lodge Knights of Pythias and other groups. Survived by wife Tait Bell a brother Charles and sister Mrs Herbert Reeter plus three nieces and three nephews. Funeral Monday at Stevens and Bush Funeral Home with burial Marble Park Cemetery.
A year ago this week in Saline, a community meeting with over 100 attendees appointed workers to three committees Organization Dues and Membership to organize fairs for local residents. Marchers for the Dime Campaign were active last year and Still's hosted Dinners for Dimes as part of fund raising efforts.
