Rabbits Targeted in New Bow Hunting Experiment in Michigan
About 30 000 to 40 000 bow hunters in Michigan test a new rabbit sport at Ferris Farm near Perry. A Beagle club helps coordinate a field trial with up to a couple of hundred archers surrounding a swamp to flush cottontails. The event drew about 100 bowmen. four rabbits were harvested, and rules may ban sharp arrows in favor of rubber game heads for safety and effectiveness.
