Open Meeting At Rotary Club in 1943 Start

The Rotary Club held its first meeting of 1943 as an open session. Members discussed plans to recruit new members and the membership committee expects results soon. Hubert Bearss noted a Red Cross blood donor goal of about 200 volunteers, with 130 applications so far. Carl Curtiss described draft board changes in classifying age groups and cited Washtenaw County estimates of 950 boys aged 18-19, with 246 registered. soon, married men without children may be called to serve. J. F. Hofer of Ann Arbor attended as a guest.

Mrs Susie E Hoffman dies after long illness

Mrs Susie E Hoffman aged 55 to be 56 Monday died Sunday in St Josephs Mercy hospital Ann Arbor after a long illness. She was born January 11 1887 in Sanilac county and lived here nine years. Survived by husband Arthur J Hoffman son Dr O D Hoffman and brother Robert Hesson. Active Methodist member and affiliated with Saline Woman's Club. Funeral at Lockwood funeral home Wednesday at 9 with Dr Fred A Lendrum officiating. Body taken to Peck for services at 3 and burial in Peck cemetery.
