Awards Presented at 4 H Banquet in Washtenaw County
More than 400 4 H members and guests gathered at the Masonic temple in Ann Arbor for the annual Achievement banquet hosted by the Kiwanis club. Wording highlighted by 4 H leaders and officials from the University extension division praised club work and urged members to cultivate manners and consideration for others. Lima 4 H won the Savings Bank trophy for best year program. Miss Cora Blumhardt of Bridgewater 4 H earned the Leader's Trophy, now in her permanent possession. Delegates named for Michigan State College next week include many 4 H club leaders across Saline, Lima, Superior, and nearby townships. The Woman's Club met Tuesday. plans and talks on French drama and American drama were presented, followed by a social tea. Taxes and dog taxes are due. notices for payment dates were announced by Charles Graf, Treasurer.

John P Wedemeyer died suddenly at his home in West Michigan. He was born February 17 1852 and survived by his widow Dorothy two daughters Mrs Fenest Lamerrier of Lodi and Mrs T mna Visel of Selene several sons including Wil disten John Aaron Alfred of Lodi townships two brothers Christ e of Preece and Aaron of Ann Arbor a half brother John Kettler of Selene and two half sisters 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held yesterday at 1 80 at the last dance and at 2 o'clock at St Jacob's church Rev Otto Panedort officiated burial was in Benton cemetery.

Saline Township pioneer David Gordon born November 3 1850 in Saline Township. Son of Scottish immigrant parents he spent his life on the family farm, married Alma Collins April 8 1874, and died December 29 1932. Survived by widow Ameda Gordon, children Walter Glenn Kenneth and others, 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral held at home with Rev Bertram Ede officiating. burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
