Mail delay at Saline post office draws Observer ire
The Saline Observer reports an eight hour delay in handling second class mail at the Saline post office raising concerns about dispatch times. The paper notes it is learned that local offices with higher volumes move papers faster and urges staff to fix the bottleneck to ensure timely delivery. A humorous aside mentions a reader stealing a copy at Martys Restaurant, pointing out the new subscription rate makes the paper affordable.

In Saline township Democrats did not caucus due to a mix-up in interpreting state spring election statutes, though clerk Warren Finkbeiner cited an off-hand opinion of township attorney James Hendley.
