Michigan GOP tilt shown by Dickinson aide and Vandenberg links
Governor Dickinson’s private secretary Leslie Butler and aide Miller Dunckel drive promotion for the Vandenberg ticket with out of state trips. Democratic shifts favor Attorney General Frank Murphy to the Supreme Court, with Murray Van Wegener pressed for the governorship and party leaders split on third term sentiment for Roosevelt. A proposed constitutional amendment to shrink the Michigan House from 100 to 64 spurs metro rural debate, while officials dodge judgments on reapportionment.
