Governor Kelly Seeks State Building Funds For Schools And Hospitals
Governor Harry F. Kelly urges prioritizing the 1946 state building program to fund Michigan schools and mental and tuberculosis hospitals. The plan channels surplus toward University of Michigan and Michigan State College, mental health facilities, and local governments, with Detroit and other metropolitan areas bearing substantial benefits. Local governments alone levy taxes, making state support crucial for improving facilities and services.
