At Mrs. C. H. Miller home the Saline Woman's Club heard Miss Ada Dahlgren recount her experiences as a YMCA entertainer at the American front in Europe during World War I. She described time in France and with the Army of Occupations in Coblenz Germany and sang two soldier favorites.

Descendant Of Pioneer Frederick G Pierce Dies In Saline
Frederick G Pierce son of Lucretia and Lucius Pierce died last month in Saline and was mourned by friends in Saline and Philadelphia. He was a Princeton railroading veteran later an electrical engineer with Westinghouse in Pittsburgh and founder of the F G Pierce Agency in Philadelphia. He married Nellie Miller and built a large life insurance business. survived by sons William Gregory Pierce and John Mather Pierce, and by grandchildren Patricia and John Mather Pierce Jr. He was active in Freemasonry and Mayflower Society, an award winning amateur photographer, and descendant of the Gregory and Ely families with Revolutionary War ties. Private funeral was held January 14 at Miss Buckman’s home. cremation followed in Detroit. Remaining ashes to be interred in Philadelphia where he spent much of his life. widow to remain in Saline until March then join daughters-in-law and grandchildren.
