Mrs Charlotte Briggs 89 a longtime pioneer of the area died Saturday morning at her home near Saline Michigan She leaves four sons Orrin Saline Alfred Lodi township Wilson Royal Oak and Elroy Ypsilanti with seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren A private funeral was held Monday at 2 pm officiated by Reverend R S Schofield at her residence Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery

Obituary for Helen Baker of Owosso Michigan
Helen Baker daughter of Stephen and Carrie Baker was born May 20 1909 in Owosso Michigan and died December 21 1931 in Saline aged 22 years 7 months and 1 day. She moved with her parents to this county six years ago living in Iosco and Unadilla townships and Saline. She joined the Methodist Protestant church of Iosco Livingston county about five years ago and remained faithful. She leaves a loving father and mother a brother Leonard of Owosso and many relatives and friends. We have lost our darling Helen and she has gone to live in Heaven with the Master.

Farmers Week features two nights of programs on February 3 and 4 at Michigan State College. A Cadet band performs nightly at 6 30 pm along with livestock parades dog act horse exhibition sheep shearing milking contests pulling contests and student exhibitions. Speakers and vocal music change each night. On Monday a snake found in Vanderpool’s store is examined by Dr Minaker for zoo value.
