Rotarians Celebrate Merry Christmas Meeting
Rotarians gathered at The Tavern last Thursday noon for a festive Christmas meeting. Alfred Sehmid hosted gifts for all present except Roy J. Miller, with lighted tree and ice cream dessert containing tiny Christmas trees in green or pink. Poems accompanied each gift, and a humorous card game featured verses about Santa, Hubert Bearss, and Mortimer Snerd. Absent members were to receive Christmas reminders, and guests Dr. Dean Myers and Scout Executive Walter MacPeek attended with Don Ford in charge.

History of Mooreville School Begins in York Township
The article traces Mooreville area education from August 1830 when York township residents formed a school, through the construction of log and later brick houses, the move to Webster's spelling, and the 1840s to 1850s growth in pupils. It notes early directors, teachers, census data, and the evolution of school governance and facilities. It also mentions family names common to the district and the eventual sale of the old log school.
