Paul H. Jones of Dearborn, Henry Ford plant superintendent, told Rotary Club at The Tavern that more gardens will be needed next year. He warned three billion pounds of stored food may not last a week and urged citizens to prepare for postwar needs. He also urged better farming practices and ed ucation for youth to ensure a place in postwar society. Visitors and new members increased club enrollment to 25, the largest in its history. Mrs. Jacobina Burkhardt aged 81 died Sunday at home. Born Jacobina Wisel in Germany in 1863, she married Jacob Burkhardt in 1885. Surviving sons Alwin and William of Saline. daughters Mrs. John Finkbeiner of Saline and Mrs. John Moody of Ann Arbor. sister Mrs. George Huss of Ann Arbor. eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One daughter Mrs. Herman Wackenhut of Bridgewater predeceased in 1935. Funeral at home 1:30, public service 2:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. H. L. Engie. interment Oakwood cemetery.
