Saline will begin a Civil Works Administration sewer project to drain the southwest corner and lay the main sewer in the northwest area. About 15 workers from Saline and 20 from surrounding territory will be employed. The city estimates a cost near 1800 dollars with the federal government covering part of the total. the effort aims to place 4,000,000 men to work and may start by February 15.
Epworth League events announced for Friday Banquet at 6 30 with Milan orchestra and hymn singing under Rev W Johnson of Manchester. Dr Samuel Harrison of Albion College to speak. Saturday features opening conference sessions and Bishop Edgar Blake address. Sunday morning preacher Dr Blane Kirkpatrick of Chicago with closing sessions and Epworth League gatherings in the evening.

Survived by one son six grandchildren four great grandchildren two sisters and one brother and many others. Funeral at Hicksville United Brethren Church with Dr S E Brewster and Rev Charles Moore. Gov. George White of Ohio grants a full pardon to Charles Badger who was arrested in Adrian after escaping from the Ohio penitentiary 14 years ago. The pardon follows a plea by Mrs. Badger and her three children citing his marriage and lawful conduct during his years at liberty.

Mrs Nellie Elliott 67 widow of Lorenzo Elliott died early Thursday at her daughter Mrs Mabel A Stoll's home after a lingering illness. Born in Saline the couple married in 1884 he died 1925 she lived in Ann Arbor for 24 years. Survived by two sisters Mrsena Gordon of Saline and Mrs Myftie Boettger of Belleville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral 2:30 p m Barney in the afternoon Rev Bert Hide officiating burial Bethlehem Cemetery. Ann Arbor Daily News.

A banqu et will begin at 7 o'clock followed by the program with Hon H W Newkirk as principal speaker. Awards and honors for county leaders and members will be announced, sponsored by the Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club with Washtenaw County 4-H Council assistance.
New telephone directories for the Saline Telephone Company and the Macon area are being distributed amid four years of low mood. The two lists show solid client representation and are expected to grow before another directory is issued. Blank pages were left for future names and an innovation adds the directory service to nearby communities with a Friday market order.
