Auto dealers urged restraint amid market shift at West Virginia meeting
J C Doyle of Detroit Ford Division warned against pursuing quick profits and cautioned dealers that defense steel shortages will not immediately boost auto output. He urged focus on sound operations, expense control, and skilled sales staff, noting many profits are lost to poor staffing rather than product overages. The Central Region covers about 1,000 Ford dealers in nine states, as industry eyes a bright but changed future. Archery tournament plans in Michigan were also announced with state championships at Pontiac Lake and new ranges in Three Rivers and Lapeer areas.
