The Saline Schools PTA plans a final meeting at the high school on the evening of April 24 with a 7 PM community feed in the auditorium. Attendees should bring a dish to pass, plus their own silverware and sandwiches, while local bands from Saline and Tecumseh will perform and a 9 PM games program follows.
Elton R. Eaton argues Michigan officials chase beer legislation not from demand but to fill the treasury as the state faces near empty funds. He notes unpaid wages, scarce tax revenue, and diverted gas and weight tax funds, urging passage of a beer license bill and warning of the bill’s implications.

The Saline Junior Gun Club has applied for membership in the Junior National Rifle Association and is expected to be accepted. The club, now with ten members, aims to grow quickly as more boys are urged to apply and senior club members offer explanations of the details.
John George Rentschler died at Saline General Hospital Thursday afternoon aged 76 years. A lifelong resident born October 2, 1856 in Lodi township, he leaves two sisters Agatha Rentschler and Mrs George Feldkamp, one brother Emanuel, and several nephews and nieces. Private funeral services were held at Dietiker's Funeral Home Saturday at 1 30 with Rev John Meyer officiating. Burial followed in Bethel cemetery Freedom township.
Neuhaus Hatchery reports Jacob Fucss hatched 51 chicks from a flock of 42 hens and one rooster, yielding about 85 percent hatching. The rate rivals regulation flocks and underscores efficient breeding practices.
The Board of Review will meet in the Council Rooms on Monday April 17 to review the roll and to hear complaints filed with the clerk or brought in person or by attorney. The board may continue meetings on successive days as needed. City Clerk Lottie Wallace signs the notice.
The Lambarths express gratitude to the Saline Fire Department and neighbors for assisting in extinguishing a chimney fire at their home last Thursday.

The Saline Telephone Company is moving from the Cook Building on Michigan Avenue to the old Hunt house at South Ann Arbor and Henry streets. The switchboard, cables, and equipment will be updated for a late night cutover with emergency lines maintained, and new pay and local call arrangements for subscribers.
