Michigan imposes quaran tines over Vesicular Exanthema
Dr. Lee Davisson reports Michigan was free of vesicular exanthema quarantines for 25 days. A Macomb County state quarantine started March 31 followed by a federal quarantine April 1. On 3 hog farms in Macomb 950 to 1,000 marketable hogs are affected as inspectors survey garbage feeding premises. The outbreak traces to garbage fed hogs with prior cases in Kalamazoo Hillsdale Jackson Calhoun St Clair Washtenaw Livingston Genessee Oakland and Wayne counties. Mr and Mrs Clayton Wanty left Friday for Great Neck New York to visit son Byron.
