Three Midnight Riders Remembered Beyond Revere

The piece revisits Paul Revere and his two lesser known counterparts William Dawes Jr and Dr Samuel Prescott. It notes Dawes and Prescott earned belated recognition through poems, commemorations, and later public recalls, while Revere gained lasting fame from Longfellow’s poem and wider fame. It recounts their routes and roles on April 18–19, 1775, and highlights how Prescott’s contribution remains the most forgotten to many Americans.
