The Park and Portsmouth communities discuss summer arrangements with residents like Young and family moving to Arbor Lodge and Mrs W Van Nest settling in Gray's house. The shingle mill is rebuilt with heavier timber, and residents anticipate a railroad sale to eastern interests. Local sidewalk and street concerns on Fisk street prompt calls for a proper sidewall funded by property owners.

Columbia Teams Fight for State Intercollegiate Title in Portland

The Columbia squad sent five men across the plate as a probable third game may be needed in Portland to settle the state intercollegiate championship. Hinkle's injury in Saturdays game blighted Columbia's hopes and the infield fell short of its former brilliance amid errors and umpire calls. Meanwhile Saint Johns eyes growth as a city of homes with affordable rents and steady transport, inviting fair visitors to invest and settle.
