The Portland Renufacturing Co will reconstruct the plant destroyed by fire. The new facility will be larger, fully modern, and comprised of several one story corrugated buildings with modern machinery. About 75 to 100 men are expected to regain employment, boosting St Johns economy.
Life R. W. McKeon and his mother have exchanged their home for a farm near Canby. They have moved to the new residence and will be missed by many in the community. McKeon has been a longtime local figure and is praised for kindness and helpfulness, with Mrs. McKeon remembered for warmth and gentle demeanor as the couple settles into life on the farm.
R A Fletcher died at his home in St Johns after several months illness. He had lived in St Johns four years, mostly in real estate. His wife died last December. Born in Missouri in 1859, he leaves a family including Mrs J Johns and others in St Johns.
