Elevator progress at St Johns terminal grants foundation start

Foundation for the municipal grain elevator at the St Johns terminal began last week with piling complete and pouring of concrete to raise above the waterproofing line. The Grant Smith company holds the contract for the 1,000,000 bushel plant and three shifts will work once the concrete rises. Reinforcing steel arrived via government priority orders and was cut and bent under the commission’s direction. Machinery and equipment ordered in the east will move as soon as ready for shipment to speed the project.
