Bearcats Lose Friday Game to Jonesboro Tigers
Ruston high Bearcats, far from their best, fell to Jonesboro 13 to 6 at Jonesboro in a four quarter game marked by turnovers and a stubborn Tiger line. Chandler to Hilburn yielded Ruston’s lone score as McDonald and Stevenson combined for a second quarter touchdown but the try failed. Jonesboro capitalized on a blocked punt and controlled much of the proceedings with a criss cross formation, while Ruston’s defense steadied in the second half. Substitutions and late rallies did little to change the outcome as Jonesboro seized breaks and maintained the lead throughout.

A Ruston led party including C C Hardan of the cotton exchange along with W Hamilton Dubach Shep Fulier Parmerville Sheriff Pat Murphy Parmerville Gus Whiteman Parmerville and Raymond Heard Ruston departed early this morning for a two week deer and bear hunting expedition in Old Mexico. A truckload of supplies and equipment left Wednesday to precede the group as they begin the trek for the hunt and camp setup.

Terrazo Sidewalk Preservation Nears Completion in New Orleans
New Orleans on Oct 15 reports the final sealing coat has been applied to Canal Street terrazo sidewalks. Crews work from midnight to dawn to bind terrazzo bits and polishing will give a soft sheen and resist gum and grease. The neutral ground will receive similar treatment. The project costs 12000 dollars and should finish by December 1, with periodic flushing by the fire department afterward.

New Orleans reports a large fall enrollment as Loyola University opens October 6 for night classes in commerce and finance.
