The Louisiana Forestry Commission urges farmers to order loblolly and slash pine seedlings at $4.25 per thousand, with five thousand seedlings available at 50 cents each for certified farmers. Federal Loans Totaling 16010 Aid Tech High Students
Federal funds totaling 16010 for loans to Louisiana Tech students or high school pupils planning to enter the college here have been made available under terms of the National Defense Education Act of 1958. Of the total, 10674 is scheduled for loans during the present fall semester and any student now enrolled at Tech may apply. The remainder will be on hand for loans during the spring semester, when graduating high school seniors and Tech students may apply.

First Baptist WMU Installs Officers In Pledge Service
The Woman's Missionary Union of First Baptist Church held a leadership course and luncheon on a Tuesday. An installation service led by Mrs. Fred B Hamilton installed incoming officers including Mrs. Arthur Thigpen as president and Mrs. Tom Judd and Miss Irene Olive as vice presidents with several directors named. State club leaders attend National Conference on Science
Calvin Shirley, LSU Extension agent, was among 15 Southern state club leaders invited to the Nations Conference on Science in 2022 at Michigan State University. He served on three conference reports committees while the group explored advancing biology and engineering science, with talks on local 44H meetings and extension services. More than 120 kinds of fish are caught in California waters for commercial use.
