Athletes to Form Ruston High School R Club

Ruston high school athletes plan to organize an R Club with Coach Horace Williamson guiding the effort. The first meeting is Wednesday at seven, inviting any lettered athlete or alumnus from Bearcat teams to join and help support school athletics. Professor Clark Talks Reptiles to Kiwanis Club

R F Clark of Louisiana Tech spoke to the Kiwanis about snakes in Louisiana and their bites. He stressed snakes are not inferior, noted their long history, and answered questions on hoop snakes and other curiosities, while denying sensational depictions. Commander T. H. Mayfield of the United States Navy passed through Ruston this morning en route to Shreveport to visit his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. S H. Mayfield. He recently returned from Santiago Chile where he was Naval Attache to the U S Embassy and has been assigned to the flagship Arizona as executive officer. He is a brother in law to Capt. B. L. Kidd and a graduate of Louisiana Polytechnic Institute.
