March Calendar Of Events Planned At Country Club
The Ruston Country Club entertainment committee unveils a March calendar with the Northeast Louisiana Ladies Golf Association meeting on March 8 bringing visitors from Monroe Jena Winnfield Hodge and Bastrop with prize awards and folded lunches. A bring your own steak night features a Blossoms of Springtime men’s fashion show. March 29 offers gumbo lemon vegetable salad garlic bread lemon pie and coffee while youngsters’ hamburgers are planned. Game Nights continue Saturdays at 7:30 with prizes and special games for awards.

Green Thumb Garden Club Celebrates Tenth Anniversary Tea
The Green Thumb Garden Club held its tenth anniversary Silver Tea at Mrs. Amos Sexton’s Letinda Drive home. Organized in March 1997, the club spawned The Twilight and Sun Set clubs as membership grew, now part of seven Federated Austin garden groups. A staid tea with silver service, floral arrangements, and displays honored past presidents and the National Garden Club Federation. The fundraiser supported the federation’s permanent home at 4401 Magnolia Avenue, St. Louis, dedicated May 10, 1959.
