Stockholders vote to continue Ruston Industries operations
Stockholders decided Monday night not to liquidate Ruston Industries Inc. Instead the group will use assets to help attract industry to the community. They voted to buy back $4,000 of Ruston Chamber of Commerce stock to apply against land-purchase debt for industrial sites. A 3 percent dividend will be paid to 172 stockholders. any surplus will fund Ruston Building and Loan stock until further meetings. Directors were re-elected for one year: Burton, Faulk, Nealy, Glasgow, Hays, Read, Rogers. Risinger re-elected president Faulk VP Neely secretary-treasurer. Initial success included enabling Diamond Industries to locate here.

Grambling Names Wasson Red Cross Drive Chairman
Dr. Wasson of Grambling College becomes chairman of the Red Cross Drive with a 5000 quota. Dean Cole announces the appointment and a 5000 target. A 17 member committee of students and faculty will assist in coordinating campus and community activities.
