Navy Deant To Name One Of The New Cruisers New Orleans
New Orleans will name one of the government built 10,000 ton cruisers New Orleans in honor of the city. Acting Secretary of the Navy Ernest Lee dahncke informed the New Orleans Association of Commerce by telegram that the decision follows a long effort begun May 17, 1929. The old cruiser New Orleans has been decommissioned and its flagstaff preserved in the city.
