Text notes exceptions to a nine hour workday allowing women and children to be employed in canning factories during fruit season and in shrimp oyster and seafood factories during their seasons. Waitresses in small towns and telegraph workers in towns under 2500 population are also exempted.

Proceedings from Ruston Louisiana dated July 9 1080 record the Third Judicial District Democratic Executive Committee with members Fields Hammons Lewis Sons and Everett via proxy Sims electing Lewis as chairman and Sims as secretary. A resolution calls for a primary election across the district including Union Lincoln and Jackson parishes and sets rules and timing overseen by the central committee. The meeting adjourns with Lewes as chair and Sims as secretary.
New Orleans July 10 The sole issue animating supporters of Crovernor Long's convention plan is whether Louisiana should extend road building. The piece argues roads are desired and warns against more road taxes and bonds amid existing funds, bonds, and federal help already allocated. It claims Long has ample money for road-building time and argues against continuing bonds.
New Orleans announces a survey to install beacon towers on the Atlanta to New Orleans airway. Following advocacy by Senator Ransdell and Representative Spearing night flying will improve service doubling mail handled. The route will be shortened via Mobile and Montgomery with 3 pm departures from New Orleans. date for service start not yet set.
The American Cotton Cooperative Association selects floors seven and eight in the Lyons Building, New Orleans, for its headquarters. Occupancy is expected by mid July with potential expansion, as remodeling wraps up and staff numbers rise toward three hundred personnel.

Santos Conte and his wife and 13 year old son Michael began Pasteur treatment at Charity hospital to prevent possible rabies after a cow bite from a cow that went mad from a mud dag bite. His daughter Rosa 19 will start treatment later. Conte had not refused treatment but awaited hospital notice. The Conte family were bitten or scratched by the mad cow.
Local officials Bozeman and Jenkins of Southern Mineral Company say the salt rights were released to Louisiana Developing Company and that the development is entirely independent from their firm.
