No Forest Fires Occur in Lincoln in December 1959
Ranger Frank Gilson reports no forest fires in Lincoln Parish during the last week. He notes December 1959 losses were one acre on parish timber lands, far better than the 1958 period with 13 fires burning 417.42 acres. Near normal rainfall and resident caution kept damage low, especially over Christmas and New Year, with optimism for a safer 1960 through continued fire prevention and safe-use practices near homes, barns, fields, and forests.
