Profit and Principles in Mikoyan Visit Sparks Debate
By THURMAN argues that industrialists cheerleading Mikoyan’s visit and push for broader U S Soviet trade betray Christian and patriotic values. He warns communism seeks to overthrow free government and laments deficits and aid to socialist ventures, urging adherence to American principles and caution toward Soviet overtures. The piece cites Khrushchev’s warning, Dulles’ critique, and stresses vigilance against economic warfare and race or class tensions.
