New Hope Mone Demonstration Club met Monday January 8 at Mrs Roy Wade’s home with nine members and one visitor present. The County Agent Mrs Ona Blondin attended and the group voted unanimously to support placing a library in Ruston. The meeting featured a Family Counseling demonstration by Mrs Blondin, followed by refreshments. Many local visits and church events are noted, including plans for a northern district EL Council meeting at Camp Alabama in Sibley in March and various social visits.
On Monday afternoon Tubbs and Teor Brazall visited ae and Jimmy Johnson with Mrs Mollid. Saturday night they joined the Olen tb fon family for a singlet gathering.
Jimmy Ball Kiome takes a 15 day furlough from Army Camp nearing Fort Sill Oklahoma. He visits relatives in New Orleans with stops in Ruston and Fort Sulphur. Family events include a birthday dinner and a hospital recuperation for A D Lyon. Local flu and calf outbreaks noted amid storm damage in the Ball area.
Principal James Groves of the local school was rushed to Ruston hospital Saturday with a ruptured appendix. He underwent surgery shortly after arrival and is resting comfortably. Mrs W N Poland, with companions, attended the surgeon. Also noted: funeral for A T Foster at Hico. Mrs G M Colvin recovering at home. several local residents and families visiting or traveling in Monroe and Dubach areas.

Visitors in Afonroe on Thursday included Mr and Mrs Shelton Alesander and Mr and Mrs Addie Murphy who were Friday guests of Mr and Mrs Harvey Haltks. Ceel Pander of Tyler Tex spent Saturday in the M T Fowler home. Mr and Mrs M Kay visited Arcadia Friday evening. Viehling hosted Saturday with Mr and Mrs J J Tubbs of Rayne and Mr and Mrs Dayton Hanks of Natchez. Mrs Miyrlie Waugh and James Harry Waugh of Dallas Texas also noted.
Mrs Sallie Colvin, age 82, celebrated with a party hosted by Mrs V L Colvin and family. The gathering drew many friends and relatives, with gifts noted by Mrs Alexander and Mrs Laruree. Visitors included Patti Delony of Marshall and Mrs W B Holloway of Ruston.
