Judge Jones Fines Six In City Court

Six were fined by City Court last Monday for disturbing the peace. One case involved drunk driving and another driving under the influence of a narcotic drug. Charles El Rainwiter was fined $300 for driving while intoxicated. Johnny Lee King received a sentence related to a vehicle offense.

Fallout Levels Jump in Ruston from Russian Tests

A Louisiana Tech report shows total fallout in Ruston rising to 761 microcuries per acre in November from 49.4. Readings in hot spots reached 0.4 milliroentgens per air over those spots. Rainfall contributed 637 microcuries per acre and water averaged 2250 micronicrocuries per month.

New Enrolment Record Seen For Campus

Miss Mable May, registrar, foresees a spring term record at Louisiana Tech with about 3,600 students, up from 3,410 last year. Registration runs at Memorial Gym, with physical exams in T. J. Harris Infirmary over three days. All returning and new students must be examined before registering, with degrees candidates enrolling alphabetically Wednesday. Ruston Man's Relative Dies In Auto Wreck

A two year old Leta Nugent was killed when a car driven by her father Harry Nugent of Oreland Pa rear ended a stalled transport rack near Moorhead Mississippi Saturday night. Nugent’s wife paralyzed. both parents severely injured. Funeral held at Spears Chapel with burial in Greenwood cemetery.
