Hillcrest Students Gift Toys to Veterans Hospital in Ruston

Hillcrest Elementary School fifth and sixth graders in Ruston organized a gift drive for the Veterans Hospital in Pinville, each child giving a wrapped gift while receiving none. The project, led by class leaders Bildoves and Mrs Clea Dendy, involved all students and a Nativity scene, highlighting the season’s charitable spirit.

Correspondents Christmas Party At The Leader

The Leader hosts a Christmas gathering with Wien newspaper correspondents visiting its offices. Publisher Clarence Faull and editor Henry Berry spoke to the group and answered questions. Christmas Party Notes From Local Churches and Clubs

The WSCS Christmas party was hosted by Mrs. Alvan Dring, with a beautiful program led by Mrs. Glh dva Hedgepeth and gift exchanges, followed by refreshments. Antioch Methodist Church hosted a Christmas message by Rd. Lyman Douglas and Santa arrival with treats. The Antioch Home Demonstration Club held a Christmas gathering at Mrs. J. C. Moward’s home featuring artificial fruit arrangements, a talk on decorations by Mrs. T. M. Hood, and gifts among members assisted by guests Mrs. Howard of Jonesboro and Mrs. McCrary of Ruston.

Greenwood church members start Good Cheer Club for shut ins

Greenwood Church members formed a Good Cheer Club to buy and give gifts to shut ins and aged people rather than drawing names for Christmas. A Christmas program was held Sunday evening with help from young people and a few adults.

Christmas program and home gathering in Mineral Springs

The Rocky Springs demonstration club met at Mrs. William Franklin's home on December 18 for a Christmas program. After business, members exchanged gifts. Mrs. Franklin served cake, coffee, and tea. Family members gathered later for Christmas, with many relatives visiting from Florida and nearby towns.

Amvels to Launch Cameron 4-H Poultry Project Next Spring

A Louisiana Amvets and LSU Extension Service initiative will start a Poultry Chain Project in Cameron parish next spring. Ten 4-H members will receive 100 baby chicks and feed to develop improved practices. Proceeds from seven pullets per participant aged around six months will fund future home flocks for other needy 4-H youth.
