Sibley Reverend McCord helped lead Union Thanksgiving Service at Downeville. Several families from Alto Bastrop and nearby towns spent the holiday visiting relatives across the region. O Neals Robi J and G A O Neal hosted and traveled guests, while multiple family ties and weekend visits linked residents from Shreveport Dubach Monroe Mansfield and Greenville.

Program included readings by Ernestine Crews, singing, a blackface skit, and Thanksgiving contests.
