Tests of 4424 dairy cows in Lincoln parish found only two reactors to tuberculin. The two infected animals were destroyed with owners paid two thirds of appraised value under state and federal acts. Health officials conducted the campaign with Dr. Victor Harris and F. D. Jackson overseeing 725 farms.

Mrs. Peter Wyatt of Weston Jackson parish died at home after two months illness. She was 19 months married to the late Peter Wyatt and active in Ebenezer Baptist Church. Lincoln parish reports no epidemic presence as Dr. R Allen, parish health director, cites preventative services. During March, 325 typhoid vaccine first shots, 109 diphtheria toxoid shots, and over 1400 smallpox vaccinations were administered. Three smallpox cases from an epidemic area were isolated with one exposure case refusing vaccination.

Kids from Louisiana Tech Training School in Austen discovered five pint whiskey bottles hidden at the base of a tree near Pugh's pone by Rus ton Friday afternoon while seeking Easter eggs. Teachers Miss Ernestine Elder and Miss Cammie Baldridge supervised eighth grade pupils. The bottles were presented to Sheriff A J Thigpen who poured out the contents.

San Francisco launches world’s longest air passenger route with 28 hour service from New York to San Francisco and 31 hour eastward trips. National Air Transport and racing system announce three daily departures from eastern and western terminals. Twenty tri motor planes cover 2160 miles with two pilots and a stewardess aboard. Jury Unable To Fix Cause Of Plane Crash
A coroner's jury ruled it could not determine the cause of the air transport plane crash near Cob Lonwcott Falls Kansas. Knute Rockne of Notre Dame and seven others were killed in the mishap. The victims died from an airplane fall with cause undetermined.

Representative James B. Aswell who died March 16 left an estate valued at 83 750. The widow, Mrs Bila F. Aswell, filed the probate petition stating the entire estate is left to her during widowhood. Store Robbed at Choudrant During Night
Sheriff A J Thigpen received a report from O Neal and O Neal at Choudrant that their store was entered last night and robbed of merchandise valued at 250 dollars. The thief broke a glass front, released the night latch, and removed pocket knives razors hosiery shirts overalls hats and shoes. No car or other clues were found. This is the second break in at the store in a year.

Farmer Loses Purse In Most Peculiar Way
Farmer W. Singleton near D Arbonne reports to sheriff that his purse containing 35000 was snatched as he opened it to pay for his hinch in a Shreveport restaurant. A dark skinned tall man snatched the purse. a light faced man with a pistol was seen nearby. Police could not identify any suspect. Singleton left without a formal report.

Union Parish Boys Caught With Liquor
Two Farmerville youths Enoch Catels and Hud son Hudson both aged 24 were arrested near Ruston on a charge of possessing intoxicating liquor. Deputies traced bootlegging activity after a tip and found two gallons of whiskey. Daniels admitted prior whiskey delivery but said Hudson joined this trip for the first time. They were jailed in Union Parish.

Three Children Treated for Rabies After Dog Bite
Ruth, Laverny, and Jack Taylor of Alabama Avenue are receiving hydrophobia serum at home after being bitten by a three month old rabid Spitz. The dog, a family playmate, was pronounced rabid at a Shreveport lab when its head was sent there for tests. Local doctors are administering treatment and the children show no symptoms at noon, though under close observation.

State Legion Officer Dies In Alexandria
Sanders Baskin fifth district liaison officer of McFarland No 2 American Legion received a telegram that A W Edemeyer state legion service officer died at Veterans Hospital in Alexandria Tuesday. Edemeyer had been active since the service office’s founding and worked with district service officers. He had recently declined in health and was hospitalized for treatment. Baskin called him an earnest worker whose loss will be felt in Legion service. Several services were planned in Lake Charles, his former home, to-morrow.
