Fragment discusses district efforts to improve youths voices through singing. Mentions Sunday School gathering at 3 p.m. with plan to oppose other groups and reference to Zior songs.
The account recalls a fire at the livery barn and a prior blaze at the same site. Between 30 and 49 attendees enjoyed a pleasant evening with toasts to the King and Our Country. Rev. Smith praised mothers and spoke on the debt owed to them in his remarks.
A CGLT gathering featured Mia Nevill and Bery Hooper replying to toasts Our Mothers and The Girls. The girls performed a short programme and guests praised the CGLT and leader Mrs L Eliott. The Woman's Institute plans a morning meeting at Mrs Bond's on May 1 at 3 pm with a talk on Best Methods of Canning.
A well attended meeting at the Switzers' home decided on manse repairs and to take over subscriptions for The New Outlook, the United Church weekly. Miss Chrissie Grainger has recovered from the flu. Trail Rangers held a weekly camp on church grounds with good attendance. Nellis MacKay was elected Tally after Howard Staples resigned. Next week will include training for some members.
The Mother's Day Services were largely attended. The United Church Anniversary is arranged for Sunday June Tth with a concert and launch in the church at 7 pm. Adults 50c, children under four 25c.
Mothers Day activities at Union Sunday School featured solos by Vida Denny D Hough and Rev M E Nixon with a notable tray presentation to Delmar Meeeters who recently married Miss Marion McKee. The Rossburn Curling Club held its May 5 meeting electing R J Brown as honorary president D Hough as president W Arbogast as first vice president J H Irwin as second vice president and John A Lindsay as secretary treasurer with a strong financial balance reported.
A pleasant May 7 event at the school house under U F W M auspices featured the Angusville Dramatic Society performance of Strictly Business with a short program of music and readings followed by the play. The community denounced hostile heckling while praising the performers. A dance concluded the evening.
Farmers expect most seeding finished by May 24 as wolves resurface causing losses to turkeys and hens. A church service at Bavelaw School saw modest turnout with plans for next Sunday. Cattle fever outbreak spreads to Moses Smith’s herd prompting a government dipping vat under contract to H E Furnace while area remains confined near Bavelaw School Road.
The annual meeting of the Tennis Club was held by W. Thom's office last week with fair attendance. J. S and S. Warrington was elected President for the 1925 season, with Mrs. R. C. Jamieson, Secretary-Treasurer. The fees were placed at 3 3.00 per
A large membership drive is underway as courts near completion. The secretary treasurer requests fees as early as possible to support the project and operations.
The upper school ranks were led by X Evelyn Cope IX Phyllis Burley Will Reta McMurray VII Ellen Cal vert VI Jean McIntyre V Edmee Termunde IV II Andrew Meadows V James Hill. A closely contested baseball game Friday ended with Russell boys defeating Angusville 5 to 4.
The Minniska W.M.S. met at Mrs McDonald’s home with strong attendance. Mrs Keiper led the service and Miss Armstrong from Cracknell presented a paper from the study book. A Mission Band was formed for Minniska and Cracknell schools and a Silverton Minniska joint meeting is set for May 20 at Minka Church to hear the convention report. The next gathering will be at Mrs Harvey McLennan’s home.
Last Sunday service notes attendance of 310 and an offering of 54 dollars and 50 cents for Gimli Camp funds. Morning sermon topics include Jesus Christ and human distinctions, evening sermon on grace as a present day reality. Special meeting of the Official Quarterly Board discussed clearing the current deficit and plans to meet to decide actions.
Divine Service next Sunday at 3 pm at Trinity Church Harrowby followed by a congregational meeting to elect Wardens and Vestry for the current year.
Christ Church outlines Rogation Sunday services from May 18 to 20 with Holy Communion at 8.30 a.m. and Evensong at 11 a.m. Ascension Day falls May 21 with Holy Communion at 8 a.m. and Evensong at 7.45 a.m. The Deanery of Birtle holds its first meeting May 25 and 26 in Runsell with the Bishop of Brandon as preacher.
A meeting of the Roypsell Unit Army and Navy veterans will be held in the Club rooms on Monday May 18 at 8 15 p m All members are requested to attend due to important matters.
Judge Maulson presided Tuesday as cases were decided. Nick Burla’s appeal from a magistrate’s conviction was affirmed and he was fined 200 dollars plus costs and jailed 60 days at Portage. Ketke vs Kriemold involved threshing and labor with a 50 59 decision. Grolier Co vs John Clark ruled for the plaintiff over book contract. Angusville Trading Co vs Torr Majrowski awarded for a store account. Kostiuk vs Mazur and Badink vs Iftodi settled 50 50 in commission disputes. Ad journed to next court.

Farmers in the district finish feeding Read Park and announce a forthcoming Treasure Hunt Sale of all Ingils Library books. Archy Thom returns from university studies to town. Various local moves, hires, and events populate Winnnipes including church organist appointment and business promotions.
Mother's Day was fittingly observed at the morning service. A program prepared by the R E C 3 Manitoba was presented before an audience, highlighting communitywide remembrance and celebration.
