A Sunday night service is planned for May 10 at 8 pm to hear delegates from Winrreg. The U F W M will meet May 14 at Mrs Robertson's home. The editor notes Mother's Day and a full Sunday schedule. An important meeting of the Russell Agricultural Society directors will be held on Saturday next at 8:20 p.m. in C. W. Thom's office.
Hugh Wellace a Minniska district pioneer and Glasgow immigrant aged 77 died after a stroke. He retired here 32 years ago on his farm, predeceased by his wife and now the last of his family. Funeral Saturday from his home to Minniska cemetery with Rev Batley officiating. pallbearers named Ed Clover M Mc Culrough John Frame Hugh Frame Joe McRostie John A McLennan.
The boys' baseball season begins with two games against Anrusville. Honours note top grades in the senior school with Thelma Middleton and Phyllis Burley leading, followed by Reta McMurray, Marion Brown, Ellen Calvert, and others.
The Sunday School reported 718 attendees last Sabbath with 31 in Bible Class and over 30 in the beginners class. Mr Middleton delivered a well received sermon on the International Bible Students. A joint 11 o clock service and Sunday school will occur next Sunday with an inter esting pageant by the echolors. Parents are asked to attend 11 o clock service.
