Hire A Student Office Opens In Russell Area
Donna Kalynuk announces she will manage the Hire A Student program for Russell and nearby communities with sponsors the Russell District Chamber of Commerce and Manitoba Department of Labour. She plans high school visits at Major Pratt Rossburn and Birtle to register students and inform firms of vacancies and the Career Internship Program. Rossburn Health Centre opens with tours and ribbon cutting
The Rossburn Health Centre held its grand opening on May 7 1982 at 1 30 pm. Attendees included Morley Kostecky board chairman and Rossburn mayor Louis Kurchaba reeve of the RM of Rossburn John Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp Avis Stitt administrator Wally MacKenzie MLA Ron Renwick and MLA John Bucklaschuk. Alex Cleland a retired board member cut the ribbon alongside other board members. A time capsule was placed in the walls by Mrs Stitt Tours were offered throughout the day and refreshments were provided by the Health Centre Auxiliary.
