Hospital seeks three new equipment pieces at annual meeting

Computers to be placed in schools uy anneras
Regular meeting of the Pelly Trail School Board on June 28 with 7 trustees and 3 staff in attendance. Discussion on rescinding the June 14 motion to change the school year due to bus drivers, deemed too late to change. January action planned, September liaison committee advised no change needed. All agreed to keep the 28 school year as it stands. Superintendent's report notes three staff hirings and planned division in services on Sept 10 and 25. Computer Education committee plans four computers for next year at Elphinstone Collegiate Inglis Major Pratt and Rossburn elementary schools. In service Sept 10 will focus on computer awareness with a fall workshop for key staff. Compensatory Indian Affairs grants: payment of $304,833.27 for tuition but not $417,332.38 accrued interest, due to lack of provision for interest. Indian Affairs to be consulted. Native students from the reserve wanting Rossburn schools in Sept may be turned away without agreement with Indian Affairs. Mr. Knezacek and Mr. Bradshaw to attend a computer demonstration July 6, plus any interested board members. Transportation report notes one overloading bus issue. Motion to tender route RO3 for a 36 passenger bus rather than a feeder bus carried. Minutes of the School Board meeting June 17 changes proposed remain to be reported.
