The Saskatchewan Wheat Pool opened a 106000 bushel elevator at MacNutt on June 18 1982 with 3 pm events through a dance at 10 pm The facility features a 55000 bushel annex a drive shed receiving scale dust system and truck hoist The first loads were hauled by local residents and speeches were given by MacNutt officials and the mayor The project cost about 850000 and aims to add a computer in November 1982 Attendees included the MacNutt Wheat Pool committee and prize winners at the social hour and banquet.

Up to 90 jobs. staff start July 5 with 48 weeks training. They also toured Swan River Fisher farms Ethelbert Podolsky Apiaries Duck Mountain Grassland Project and more, planning another visit this fall possibly without Russell.

WOR New York will drop satellite service in late June. Westman Media Cooperative Ltd will offer a two week Cable Health Network trial through July 15 followed by two weeks of the U S A Cable Network. Viewers will vote in late July to decide which service remains. CKND signals are planned to start in late August across seventeen of twenty communities.

Hire A Student Week Set For Manitoba June 28 to July 3
Labour and Manpower Minister Vic Schroeder announced Hire A Student Week from June 28 through July 3 in Manitoba. The program runs 42 Hire A Student Centres across rural communities to link students with employers, offering job referrals, workshops, and information on government programs. About 6 000 students are expected to be placed in full and part time roles this summer, with flexible durations from hours to the entire season. Employers can also access the Career Internship Program offering wage subsidies. Over 2 000 positions have already been approved, and eligibility was expanded to help more businesses with fewer than 50 employees.
