Paper recycling saves trees and energy in Canada
Effective recycling reduces landfill waste and pollution while conserving forests. Recycled fiber cuts energy and water use by half and lowers water and air pollution. Canada loses over 500 000 tons of recyclable paper yearly. One ton saved equals 20 mature trees spared. Practical tips include sorting into three categories and discarding non acceptable papers.
