25 years ago the Russell Football Team with Madill Neville Theobald Sparrow Forsyth Madill Turnbull McKay Cowie and Brown defeated Foxwarren in a league game. Twenty years ago Walter Hembroff and wife moved to Mountain avenue while George Meeres left Lawrence and Meeres for CPR work and Pred Meeres took over a studio. Frost and hail hurt Angusville crops. Rev Harvey Ferrier named minister to Russell Methodist church. Fifteen years ago the Russell Unit of Army and Navy Veterans added a trench mortar plinth, a bee to finish the grandstand roof, and prizes awarded at Shellmouth Agricultural Society plowing contest to numerous growers. The Windy City Baseball League reorganized with officers listed. Mint Amy Nicks earned a Theory medal at Misericordia Hospital graduation. Four candidates sought provincial office: Griffiths, Peden, Wil son, and Lagaruk with independents in the field.

Livestock Cooperative Convention Held At Brandon
A large turnout from Russell and surrounding districts attended the Canadian Livestock Cooperative Western Limited annual convention in Brandon on Wednesday June 10. Bert Robb was elected to the provincial board of directors. Others present included Bryant A, J McLennan, A Robin, George Robb, A Perris, W Ferris, Roy Stevens, and M W Young. A resolution authorized the board to disburse surplus earnings to locals. Bert Robb Roy Stevens and Norman Young visited Brandon experimental farm on June 11 for a day described as enjoyable and instructional. A general livestock raisers meeting will be held in the district at a later date.
