CP Rail Plans $7 Billion Winter Battle Across Tracks
CP Rail will spend about 7 million this year fighting blizzards avalanches floods and mudslides along 16000 miles of track. A force of roughly 2900 maintenance workers aided by snow removal machines and army units with howitzers will clear the rail system across 19 divisions. About 1 million is for snow clearing on 7650 Prairie Region miles from Thunder Bay to Swift Current and 1400 miles are part of the main line.
