Council debates library levy and highway upgrades
Full council attended the February 8 meeting. Marion Boucher moved to rescind the December resolution raising the per capita library levy from 6.50 to 7.50, but the levy will stay at 7.50 for 1999. Ed Slywchuk reported highway plans include a park bike path at minimal village cost and a possible west side service road after eastward shift to remove a curve, likely years away. A conservation district meeting resulted in municipal resolutions endorsing formation, amid amalgamation discussions.
