Fingas Mack family reunion spans Aug 2006 gathering

The Fingas Mack family reunion hosted August 5 and 6 2006 at the Fingas and Mack homesteads drew twelve descendants with Edna Klimack and Erwin Mack living. About 145 attendees traveled from the Queen Charlotte Islands to Ottawa for memories in speech song and worship. A silent auction funded Canadian Lutheran World Relief.

Town weighs shared arena and wellness centre plan

At a provincial briefing Marc Ranson advised the board to merge the arena with a new wellness centre to cut costs. Radford outlined a $1.8 million repair vs a multiplex with geothermal heating to halve ice plant costs, funded by REDI grants and town support with no tax increase. A Sept. 19 meeting will review design input and construction staging.
