Legislature To Meet Monday Special Session
Santa Fe New Mex Sept 28 The state legislature will convene Monday in a special session to enact a statute to relieve pressure on mid Rio Grande conservancy district farmers. The bill allows district farmers to postpone paying annual conservancy assessments on uncultivated lands until 1955 with up to 15 installments, or a lump sum if chosen. After 15 years, unpaid back assessments would be due without interest unless a new plan is adopted.
