Astronauts Alan Bean Owen Garriott and Jack Lousma prepared to return from a 59 day 24 million mile voyage aboard the Apollo ferry ship using a new steering technique due to leaks in two thrusters. They planned a 6 20 p m splashdown off the California coast with USS New Orleans nearby for recovery and a possible visit from Skylab 3 crew starting Nov 11.
