County sells hospital bonds at 5.1 percent for ENMMC remodel
Chaves County voters approved bonds to finance remodeling of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. The $3.5 million issue sold to a group led by Kirchner Moore and Co at 5.1 percent, saving about $285,000 in interest over 15 years. Funds expected around November 10 with work to bid in December and start early next year.

Danny Harris, 22, tried three times to reach his new job in Toledo and was involved in wrecks each attempt. First a swerving off the road after a 1966 Rambler incident, then a hit by a turning pickup that fled, and finally a collision with a cow damaging car and cow.
