The Parker Drilling Company arrives from Marion Indiana to Roswell area to move machinery and commence the first prospect hole for Home Oil Company. H Mook of the drilling firm will transport the rig to the Pep oil field and the company promises payment only if a successful hole is drilled. Boiler makers and machinists at the Wabash rail shops in Springfield strike for higher wages, with about 400 including some in St Louis area. The company plans arbitration to settle the dispute.

Train wrecked near Kinsley Kansas injures fourteen
The Missouri River Flyer train No. 10 on the Santa Fe line was derailed six o'clock this morning four miles west of Kinsley Kansas. A baggage car coach and chair car overturned. Fourteen passengers were injured none killed. The accident blamed on a soft track with a waterlogged roadbed. The train was ten hours late and moving slowly.
