At the A D Jones Estate sale near Roswell the 1956 Ram price averaged 31.28 and yearling ewes 20.88 with total sales of 15 418 dollars from 269 rams and 468 ewes sold. High ram price was 70 per head. Attendance dropped from 300 last year to about 100.

Texan Found Dead in Vehicle East of Artesia
A Midland man Virgil W. Hambly 46 was found dead in his 1956 Ford east of Artesia off State Road 83. A Amarillo salesman Earl Reynolds spotted the wreck in a road bed pit and notified police. The coroner's jury convened to view the scene.
