The ailing Kiatesman Jerry Simpson of Roswell New Mexico shows signs of recovery after months of serious illness. He has been gaining strength and enjoyed a drive with his wife, despite doctors warning three months ago that the rupture near his heart might be fatal.
A plan moves to flood the Sixteen Acres tract as preparations proceed to cover the land with water. Local authorities state the project aims to create new wetlands and manage flood storage, with construction timelines awaiting final permits and weather conditions.

Boston Sept 14 Rev Francis E Clark reports the Christian Endeavor movement now has 6303 affiliated societies, up 231 since the last annual convention. An international committee will plan the Silver anniversary celebration with new committees for expanding youth work and a world headquarters in honor of President Clark.
Santa Fe railway is reported to be attempting to buy the Rock Island System St. Louis to Kansas City line. H V U Mudge, second vice president, confirms the round of talks as he passes through Kansas City. The report centers on the two railroads negotiating over the line linking St. Louis and Kansas City.
B P Ransom, of Brookfield Missouri, died yesterday at his North Pennsylvania avenue residence after a three week illness from consumption. He was 72 and leaves a daughter Miss Anna Ransom and a brother Nat Ransom, both of whom came to care for him. They departed with the body this morning for Oneida New York to be buried beside his wife. All relatives reside in Brookfield.
